Jennie came to see me in 2014. She had trained with several very good personal trainers and had made lots of progress in fitness and weight loss but she wanted to train more regularly and really step-up her training.

Jennie’s lifestyle was very hectic, running two businesses and volunteering at her church, as well as raising three young children so the first thing we did was to set some realistic goals that fitted in with her lifestyle. We then evaluated Jennie’s current fitness level, which was very good. We also analysed her diet – this was where we found areas to make huge improvements.

Training
Over the next few months we put in place a programme of regular weight training to build muscle, and regular cardio to improve Jennie’s fitness levels even more. In addition to this “back to basics” approach, we programmed regular HIIT training and Crossfit style “metcons”.

Diet
Jennie’s diet was constructed around a long-term approach to healthy eating. I don’t believe in short-term quick fixes and Jennie was in agreement, so we agreed on a calorie and macro (carbs/fats/protein) profile that would support Jennie’s training programme. Lean cuts of meat, fish, wholegrain rice, oats, milk, eggs, vegetables, fruits, nuts and seeds were the main things on Jennie’s plate to fuel her training and increase her fat loss.

Jennie’s View
I love that he can work around my family and business commitments. I am a mother of three children and am self employed as a childcare provider. As a result, I work 60 hours a week so I needed to be creative about my fitness.

Whilst working out with Danny I have seen marked improvements in my fitness, endurance and muscle mass. Danny has helped me to believe in my abilities and has really pushed me beyond anything I thought possible. Some examples of this are running 1k, 5k and 10k and trying to beat my times. Danny has never done the same work out with me, which I love because I get bored very easily. Danny had also had the challenge of me having tennis elbow and has always managed to be creative and protective, which my physio will be happy with!

Danny is friendly, knowledgeable and leads by example and I cannot recommend him enough.

Summary
Jennie has gone from strength to strength and has completed the Abbey Dash 10k, Tough Mudder and now does Crossfit. She’s even training to become a fitness instructor herself to help other people make the transformation she has made! Well done Jennie!
